Where to Find The Sniffer in Hogwarts Legacy

Sniffing Magical Beasts provides players with important items from the Hogwarts legacy that can upgrade the characteristics of their equipment, as long as they find these creatures first.

Nifflers are small mole-like creatures that can be found in the Hogwarts legacy as magical beasts that provide the player with pelts if they are captured and brought back to the pen in the Room of Requirement. Niffler Fur can upgrade the characteristics of the player's equipment, making it an item that should be planted at any point between missions during the game. If players complete the correct quests first, they'll have the tools they need to track down and collect these tame creatures.

Similar to other magical beasts such as the Fwoopers in Hogwarts Legacy, Nifflers can only be captured after the player completes a quest called "The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom". The house-elf Deek provides players with the Nab-Sack on this quest and teaches them how to rescue magical creatures like the Niffler.

Nifflers Locations in Hogwarts Legacy

Icons depicting beast claws on the player's map indicate that one or more magical beasts have built a lair there, but there is no information about what kind of creatures live there. Only eight lairs belong to Nifflers, most of which are located in Hogwarts Heritage Highlands. The easiest way to track these down is to use a floo flame Fast travel system to get closer to their lair or use the Revelio spell to check out points of interest while exploring.

A second lair is located in the forest itself, while another lair is located in the northern ford swamp. While more of the Sniffing Lairs are located in the south, players must travel to Hogwarts Valley, Bossier Shores, Manor Point, and Craggcroftshire south of the Feldcroft area to find them all .

Nifflers don't put up much resistance when the player finds them, as the player can simply use the Nab-Sack to bring them back to the Animal Farm in the House of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy. Nifflers are also available at the Brood and Peck shop in Hogsmeade for 120 Galleons each. Sniffers also spawn 3 Sniffer Pelts for players to collect when brushed and fed. The special gray Niffler is a shiny variant of the Beast that players can also find in Hogwarts Legacy, but they provide the same benefits.
