How old is Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and Wasp Mania?

Here's how old Cassie Lang will be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Madness as she begins her superhero journey and potentially joins the Young Avengers.

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania!

^ Scott Lang's daughter is much older at the start of Phase 5, which is Cassie Lang's age in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Madness. From the very beginning, the father-daughter duo has been at the heart of the Ant-Man franchise. Although Cassie Lang has been recast multiple times, much of Paul Rudd's main hero story revolves around being able to save his daughter or be by her side. This continues in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Madness, which showcases some major developments for Katherine Newton's version of the character, as Ant-Man risks the safety of the multiverse to protect his daughter.

Cassie Lang played a key role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever. It was her technology that was created to construct the map of the Quantum Realm, reminding MODOK and Kang of their existence. This is how the entire Ant-Man team ended up in the Quantum Realm, with Cassie quickly becoming Kang's hostage as he tried to force Ant-Man into an alliance. She's not completely helpless in the film, however, as her transformation into a superhero keeps the MCU's Young Avengers setup going into Phase 5. A specific question was raised about how old Cassie Lang is in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever.

It has been confirmed that Cassie Lang is supposed to be 18 in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever. Director Peyton Reid brought this up in an interview with Nerdbunker, when discussing the impact of Avengers: Endgame's five-year time jump, which resulted in Emma Fuhrman as a teen before Katherine Newton took over for the Ant-Man sequel. Cassiron joins the MCU. He confirmed the 26-year-old actress played Cassie when she was 18. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania would otherwise not directly confirm Cassie's age.

Cassie Lang Is 18 Years Old In Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania

The fact that Cassie Lang is 18 in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever further explains some of her life. Neither her mother nor her stepfather showed up, so it's possible Cassie has moved out by now -- though she mentions that no one can afford the rent right now. This may also be why Cassie was sent to the main San Francisco jail after her arrest, as she is now too old to go to a juvenile detention center. Another meaning is Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantum Mania has to happen in 2025.

Confirming that Cassie Lang's age actually means that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Madness breaks the MCU timeline. This is the result of a scene early in the movie where she jokes about the night Yellow Jacket tries to take her and Ant-Man back from the Quantum Realm. Cassie said she was six years old when the incident happened. The MCU previously determined that Cassie was born in 2007, meaning her birthday party in Ant-Man would need to take place in 2013. But, on the MCU timeline, Ant-Man firmly takes place in 2015.

How Cassie Lang's Age Breaks The MCU Timeline

Since Cassie's age in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Fever is not directly confirmed in the film, the only real way to know is if she was 16 when Phase 5 started. This technically fits with the older MCU timeline, but it also contradicts previous evidence that Cassie was eight years old in Ant-Man. As a result, the MCU timeline continues to get even more confusing for those keeping track of every detail.
