Hogwarts Legacy: The pros and cons of choosing the dark wizarding path
The Unforgivable Curse is certainly a tempting adventure, but do the risks of using the Dark Arts in the Hogwarts legacy outweigh the rewards?
Where there is light there is darkness, and the wizarding world is no exception, but what are the pros and cons of being a Dark wizard in the Hogwarts legacy? When following Sebastian Salo's questline, players will eventually be faced with this crucial decision, and it may not be immediately clear which path is best for them. Some may be relieved that learning and wielding the three Unforgivable Curses is not required to complete the quest, while others appreciate the opportunity to expand their spell knowledge, but in the end, the pros and cons of the Dark Arts should be influence their decisions.
While students are completely free to choose whether or not they wish to become Dark wizards in the Hogwarts legacy, their nefarious endeavors will be very narrow compared to the main Harry Potter series. The inclusion of Avada Kedavra has an odd Horcrux innuendo, but ultimately, the Unforgivable Curses are the only form of black magic they can cast (at least for now). For those looking for the less traveled path, this might be disappointing - but despite their limitations, these spells in the Hogwarts legacy have their benefits.
Pros Of Becoming A Dark Wizard In Hogwarts Legacy
Of course, The most obvious advantage for players who become Dark wizards in Hogwarts Legacy is that they will be more powerful in battle. Crucio, Imperio and Avada Kedavra are completely unique, but in reality they come in handy all the time. As a torture curse, Crucio can deal significant damage to enemies over time and take them out of combat, making it a powerful crowd control tactic. Unlocks Imperio, the mind control curse that grants the ability to turn enemies into allies in battle. Finally, the infamous Avada Kedavra Killing Curse deals a killing blow to nearly every enemy in the game.
Using each of the three dark spells in Hogwarts Legacy applies a "cursed" status to the opponent, which has additional benefits. Depending on the skills the player unlocks on the talent tree, cursed targets may take increased damage from certain (non-dark arts) spells, curse surrounding enemies, and even heal students upon death. But by far the most powerful ability in Hogwarts Legacy is the Avada Kedavra Mastery talent, which allows players to kill every cursed target with a single Avada Kedvra, using Wave their wands.
Also, after unlocking all of the dark spells in Hogwarts Legacy, the player has very little to worry about breaking shield spells. Any of the three curses, regardless of color, instantly breaks through the enemy's protective barrier and is a valid choice at any time. Of course, the cooldowns of Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio need to be managed efficiently, but if the student is stuck, they can be used as panic buttons, giving them an immediate advantage (no need to coordinate the color of the attack).
In terms of story, players with evil-aligned characters should also be happy to know that using black magic won't stop them from completing the main quest. Normally, in the wizarding world, casting any of the three Unforgivable Curses instantly lands a witch or wizard in Azkaban for life—but even with the infamous prison that can be visited in-game, Hogwarts Legacy Dark magic also pays a price not so scary.
Cons Of Becoming A Dark Wizard In Hogwarts Legacy
Despite the black magic's notoriety in wizarding circles, there is little harm in using it at Hogwarts heritage. In fact, its only real impact on gameplay is to damage the reputation of the students. For some players, it It might be a relief to know that the use of the Unforgivable Curses doesn't affect the trajectory of the main questline. At the same time, however, it could be a major disappointment for others. Using the dark arts leads to confusion, so some students may wish to unleash similar chaos in the game's story. While there is an evil outcome in several of Hogwarts Legacy's endings, for some odd reason the spells themselves have no effect on the story or the progression of the world (other than commentary from companions and NPCs).
From a completionist perspective, it can also be disappointing to learn that the Unforgivable Curses doesn't have any achievements associated with it. In fact, even the "Master of Spells" achievement, which requires students to learn "all spells," doesn't require unlocking Core Diamond, Imperio, or Avada Kedavra. However, in terms of downsides, it's pretty minor.
In fact, all the disadvantages of using the Dark Arts in the Hogwarts Legacy are almost nonexistent compared to its advantages. While players will disappoint most of their companions and NPCs in the game, and will not unlock any special achievements or storylines, they will eventually be able to annihilate Their competition is consistent and effortless.
