Garcia's cast was right about Criminal Minds: Evolution ending romance
Penelope Garcia's latest "Criminal Minds: Evolution" romance was short, but it ended with Garcia's actor Kirsten Vansner Blessings from Kirsten Vangsness.

Warning! SPOILERS for season 1 of Criminal Minds: Evolution!
^ The actor who played Criminal Minds: Evolution's Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vanceness) is right about her character's recently ended romance. While such human relationships help add a new dimension to police procedurals like Criminal Minds by tempering the grim plot of a serial killer plot, they also bring their own pitfalls. This is especially true when the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is particularly challenged by a case, which can also push a romantic relationship to breaking point. In an event like this, it'll be interesting to see what the show's cast members think about the relationship, because they undeniably know their characters best.
During the initial run of Criminal Minds, Garcia appeared to be close to several of the "Criminal Minds" cast, including Derek Morgan (Shema Moore) and Luke Al. Wiz (Adam Rodriguez). By the end of season 15, it seemed like Garcia and Alves would finally be together, though Criminal Minds: Evolution didn't quite follow up on that plot thread. Instead, the show paired Garcia with Tyler Green (Ryan-James Hatanaka), until the relationship fell apart before the end of season 1.
Regarding Garcia and Green's dissolution of ties, Showrunner Erica Messer worked closely with Vangsness to determine if the duo worked and what Garcia's visit to Taylor's hospital bedside was like. Ultimately, both women felt the relationship didn't work for either of the characters' arcs in Criminal Minds: Evolution, especially Garcia's. Because of how she gained so much self-confidence and overcame the trauma she accumulated while working at the Criminal Minds BAU, it doesn't make much sense for her to be willing to allow herself to be treated badly and become deeply committed to someone like Green, especially when he's still While deep in the throes of the vengeful darkness she had been actively trying to free herself from.
Kirsten Vangsness' Romance Comments Make A Lot Of Sense For Evolution

Also, both Vangsness and Messer agree that while Garcia and Tyler ended up not working on this season of Criminal Minds: Evolution, that doesn't mean he won't be back. After all, while Garcia and Taylor's relationship is a bit feuding, it still has a lot of potential for an interesting love triangle dynamic between Garcia, Taylor, and Alves to be explored. All in all, this could make for a very interesting subplot in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2, while the BAU investigates The Mystery of Venus.
With Garcia and Green separated, the Criminal Minds reboot has a chance to salvage Alves and Garcia's relationship. This will be all the more interesting considering Criminal Minds season 15 hinted at a relationship between the two, but dropped the clue in the revival. With Green and Garcia no longer together, Criminal Minds: Evolution now has the opportunity to explore what happened after Garcia and Alvez dated, and whether their relationship had a chance.
