The Star Trek: Picard season 3 premiere gave us some insight into what the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation has been up to over the past two decades.

WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 1, "The Next Generation."
The season 3 premiere of Star Trek: Picard offered some insight into what the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast has been up to since their last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis. Season 3 of Picard, the show's final season, sees Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) reuniting with his best friend from his time as captain of the USS Enterprise-D. The old crew regroups after a shocking distress call leads to a new threat to the Federation of Planets.
The first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard largely avoided TNG's supporting cast, showcasing Picard's new crew, which includes the eccentric cybernetic Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Peele) and Soggy (Isa Briones), they're TNG's synthetic offspring Picard's late friend and colleague Lieutenant Data (Brent Spiner). Data appeared in Picard season 1 dream sequences and virtual simulations, Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) guest starred in the season 1 episode "Nepenthe", but the focus was clearly not on the TNG characters . Picard season 3 changes all that as the Enterprise crew finally returns two decades after the events The last TNG movie. But not every member of Picard's old team thrived in the transition.
5 Picard Is Leaving Earth With Laris

In Star Trek: Picard Season 2, Jean-Luc Picard, after a time-traveling prank and a personal revelation at the hands of his old nemesis Q (John de Lancie), decides to team up with the Romulan Romance develops with Laris (Orla Brady), a former Tal Shiar agent who helps Picard maintain his family vineyard after he retires from Starfleet. Season 3 kicks off with Picard and Larys packing up Castle Picard for a trip out of town together. The usually introverted Picard admits he's ready for a new adventure.
However, when Picard receives a distress call from Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), he realizes his plans are about to change. Reluctantly acknowledging their chosen lifestyle, Laris sends Picard on a mission to save his old friend. Picard and Laris get along and get along well, and hopefully this isn't the end of their shared story.
4 Riker and Troi's Marriage On The Rocks

In one of the best love stories in Star Trek, Rick and Troy get married at the beginning of Star Trek: Nemesis. Their marriage survived tragedy as their son Saad died of Suffered from a rare disease as a teenager. Picard season 1 found Riker and Troi living quiet, simple lives, raising their daughter Kestra (Lulu Wilson) in Nepenthe, both effectively retired from Starfleet.
When Picard seeks Lake's help in finding Dr. Crusher, he apologizes for taking his former co-pilot away from his family. Riker mentioned rather somberly that Deanna and Kestra might be happy to leave him for a while, a revelation that clearly hurt Picard. It's unclear what caused such a rift in the Riker family, but that apparently won't stop Riker from helping his old friend on Enterprise-D.
3 Beverly Crusher Disappeared Over 20 Years Ago

Of all his TNG comrades, Picard is probably closest to Beverly Cruise. They knew each other for years before serving together on Enterprise-D, as Crusher's late husband, Lieutenant Colonel Jack Crusher (Doug Wert), had served with Captain Picard on the USS Stargazer. There was some tension between Jean-Luc and Beverly in the early days of TNG, and there were a few potentially romantic phone calls, but the two eventually developed a warm, close friendship, often having breakfast together and having candid discussions about their personal issues .
this relationship Lived through the last TNG movie, Star Trek: Nemesis, so it was a bit of a shock to learn that Beverly cut ties with Picard and her other Starfleet friends shortly after the events of the last TNG movie. While Picard is determined to save Beverly, he's also clearly conflicted about how they left all those years ago. The episode ends with Picard and Lake finding Beverly in a medical stasis pod alongside a young man (Ed Spillers) who claims to be her son, so it seems like answers are on the horizon.
2 Geordi La Forge Curates The Fleet Museum

Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) does not actually appear in the episode, but Picard specifically mentions him at the beginning of the episode. As he assesses his castle's inventory, Picard and Laris stop to admire the Enterprise-D painting that once hung in Picard's preparation room. Picard said he was going to give it as a gift to Jody, who is now the director of the Fleet Museum, where the famous retired Starfleet ships are on display.
Picard and Riker also meet Geordi's daughter Ensign Sidney La Forge (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) and helmsman of the USS Titan-A. Reicher immediately makes Noticing her penchant for crashing ships at Starfleet Academy disturbed her. Since most of Star Trek: Picard season 3 is said to take place on Titan, it stands to reason that Sidney La Forge would be a major new character.
1 Riker's USS Titan Gets A Refit

At the end of Star Trek: Nemesis, Reich is promoted to captain of the Titan and leaves the Enterprise E with his new wife, Deanna Troy. Riker commanded the Luna-class Titan for many years, becoming a Starfleet legend in the process, most notably portrayed in Star Trek: Lower Decks. When his son Thad fell ill, Rick relinquished command of the Titans to become a reserve officer.
The Titan underwent a major makeover in Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard. Titan-A is now a Neo-Constitution class vessel, primarily an exploration vessel commanded by Captain Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick), a man who has little affection for Picard and Riker, whom he considers reckless relics . Titan-A's co-pilot is at least a friendly face, as Commander Seven of Nine (Jerry Ryan) officially joined after Picard gave her a field mission at the end of Star Trek: Picard season 2 took Starfleet.
