The final film in James Gunn's trilogy will be released in May.

2023 is shaping up to be the year of blockbuster movies of all kinds, for fans of all genres. Today, USA TODAY released some new images from some of the blockbuster movies that will be released this year. One such movie is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Let fans have a new understanding of the nominal team!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the final installment of James Gunn's Marvel trilogy. As with most Marvel projects, details of the movie's plot have been kept under wraps. But as we all know, it will see the Guardians of the Galaxy, everyone's favorite spaceflight team, on a mission to protect themselves that could end the team for good.

The new image doesn't reveal much about the plot, but it does give fans a better look at the characters in the new uniforms. The image features Guardian Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Star-Lord aka Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), and Nebula (Karen Gillan). As seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special, the Guardians of the Galaxy now own Knowhere and make it a safe place for people to live, and now they have Apparel for a new job. All four wore matching red and black uniforms, which made them all look cool, even in photos of them just standing.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last Marvel project from writer-director Gunn, who wrote and directed the first two films and the holiday special. Gunn was recently named co-head of DC Studios, which is sure to take up a lot of his time, especially now that he's writing a new Superman movie. Gunn is also known for films such as Suicide Squad, Super, Slider and the HBO Max series Peacemakers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will see past members of Pratt, Bautista, Gillan, Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldaña and Sean Gunn return to reprise their roles. The new film will also star Maria Bakalova, who debuted in the holiday special, as well as Elizabeth Debicki and Sylvie Starring Sylvester Stallone. It will also see Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji make their MCU debuts.
